Trail blazing

So, instead of finishing all of the separate documents and then piecing them together I decided to jump straight in and begin fashioning the Dorms and dragons core rules. When I'm finished I'll have to find someone to edit it as well as someone to guide me through the OGL confusion. Oh yeah, and I need original artwork since a lot of what I have is taken from google images, other books, and other bloggers. So far i'm 33 pages in and almost done with the section on classes. So far I've completed:

Preface/ Intro
Ability Scores and generation
Races
and 8 of 10 classes.

Heap of Trouble

So best friend/ rules editor is officially "burnt out on DnD" so I've got no one to bounce rule changes off of despite the progress I'm making. This could very well be problematic. I'm hitting a spot where its necessary that I bounce ideas off of people regarding nit-picky mechanics like two weapon fighting and ability score generation.

Maybe when I get a few readers I could bounce ideas off of them.

Spring Break

Spring break has been good to my Saints of Erde Campaign and the Dorms and Dragons rules. So far Ive drafted a document on combat, worked on the armor and weapon document, made the character sheet from a 4 pager to a 2 pager and cut down character creation time from an hour to 20-25 minutes. Ive also made an acceptable map for the campaign that I'm rather pleased with. Now I just need to finish the caster class document, the alchemy doc, the magic rules, and probably a lot more I'm forgetting.

Unfortunately, I go back to school tomorrow and progress will slow to a near halt with the oncoming slew of projects. :(

Hopefully I can get the whole thing drafted by mid-summer.

A New Blog for a New Game

Hello! This is actually my first blog, not a new one. Regardless, it is a blog about some of the stuff I am doing with my group and the reboot OSR rpg that is *drumroll* unnamed. For the moment my co-designer and I have called it everything from 1.75 edition to the more affectionate Dorms and Dragons.

I need to make a lot of thanks though, and I intend on making them through emails with  requests for permission to use this and that from other blogger's home rules. I need to thank especially -C from hackslashmaster, Jeff Rients, and Gavin Norman from the-city-of-iron. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from you guys and I can't thank you enough.

Now, on to homework!
